Another storm on the way

A 990mb low approching from the southwest will give afternoon clouds, and light snow in the early evening and increasing to heavier snow overnight depending on how fast the arctic air becomes displaced.

A frontal system developing west of Vancouver Island is forecast to track towards the South Coast of British Columbia on Tuesday. In combination with cold air filtering down to the coast from the interior, a significant snowfall is expected for Tuesday night.

Alpine

Tuesday: Mainly sunny in the morning, snow in the evening. Treeline temperatures in the minus-teens, and light northeasterly mountaintop winds.

Wednesday: Snow with 5-10cm inland and 15-25cm for coastal areas. Freezing levels increasing to around 1000m, and moderate southeasterly mountaintop winds.

 Thursday: Continued snow with 10-15cm inland and 20-30cm for coastal areas, freezing levels around 1000m inland but possibly as high as 1400m for coastal areas, and moderate southeasterly mountaintop winds.
