A 972 MB low over Southeastern Hecate strait will move northeastward onto the north coast early this morning. The associated frontal system in a north to south line through Southern Vancouver Island
early this morning will move eastward through the Lower Mainland by mid morning. Meanwhile a 966 millibar low will remain quasi-stationary over the northern gulf of Alaska.
A major storm last night saw wind speeds at Horstman hut reach 145 km/ph. 63cm overnight will likely mean long delays opening the mountain. The other slight problem is Whistler is only open and likely won't be steep enough anywhere except seppos to get going. Don't get stuck, and travel with a buddy. Satellite from last night as the storm advances on the west coast.
Heavy snow and strong winds are expected early this morning. Freezing levels will be rising but an additional 10-15 cm expected by this afternoon. Light snow flurries are expected Wednesday with another 1-3cm of snow. Freezing levels will fall down to around 800m.
Precip at 10am Tuesday should slide towards the south.
