8cm overnight, a bit more tonight

It's -5.3c at top of peak chair this morning. Winds are SSW 30 gusting 50km/ph. 8cm of new snow was recorded at piggy alley.

A cold front will move through today followed by an upper level trough this evening. A weaker front will reach our area by Wednesday, computer models now show less precip through the storm.

The long range looks like we're back into high pressure building by the weekend and inversion conditions again!

Alpine Forecast

Tuesday: Expect flurries to build through the day, with more intensity in the southern part of the region. As much as 15cm are possible through the day. Expect moderate to strong southwest winds and alpine temperatures reaching -6.

Wednesday: The storm continues with another 10cm possible. Strong southerly winds persists with temperatures reaching -8.

Thursday: Snowfall should taper through the day, with winds turning more northerly and abating somewhat. Alpine temperatures should reach -6.
