Clouds, flurries

Current Conditions

High winds this evening in the alpine. -5.3c winds 70 gusting 100 km/ph on top of peak. A low pressure system will cross the region from the west this afternoon and evening.

A continued weak ridge of high pressure continues to hang around. . A low pressure system Wednesday morning will leave behind unstable air that may give some lingering flurries into Thursday. On Friday a ridge builds giving clearer, warmer weather. A weak front will come through Saturday bringing a few cms. No major storms are forecast into next week.

Alpine Forecast

Wednesday: Flurries with clear breaks for many areas. Strong westerly winds diminishing through the day. Freezing level around 900m

Thursday: Dry but cloudy. Northwest winds to 30km/h at ridgetop. Freezing level around 700m.

Friday: Dry with alpine sunshine but a good chance of valley cloud. Light northwesterly winds. Freezing level rising to 2200m, with inversions likely.
