Out in the pacific this morning, a spring storm is a brewing. We should stay sort of dry until tonight, maybe the odd shower through the afternoon.
A Pacific frontal system will be approaching the north coast this morning, and will stall in a north to south line over Queen Charlotte Sound. The front will move inland Sunday morning and will
be followed by moderate to strong southerlies in the alpine regions.
The heaviest rain should be the overnight period into early Sunday morning. We can expect up to 30mm with another 20-30mm for Sunday. Unfortunately freezing levels will be very high and cool toward 2100m by Monday. We can expect significant melt in the mountains with a already isothermal snow pack. 137cm at Catskinner weather plot this morning we will watch that disappear over the next few days. It's still 5C at 2200m Horstman hut with 30km/ph winds from the SE.
River levels this morning, Check again in the morning tommorow.
