Big precipitation event on the way

6pm Friday

Forecast
A large early season pacific storm is revving up in the Gulf of Alaska this morning. The storm approaching the BC coast is entraining moisture from the subtropics and is forecast to bring significant rainfall amounts to the South Coast through the weekend.

The Saturday system will unload heavy rain on much of the area... Especially on the southwest facing slopes of the mountains. Another storm will quickly follow on its heels on Sunday for more heavy rain. Total rainfall amounts
of 100-150mm are predicted for the mountains during the two-day period... Freezing levels expected to be around 1800m for the period, with some breif higher spikes.

Warnings have been posted all up and down the coast, and are been constantly updated. Rivers are expected to dramatically rise Sunday with continued precipitation.
