A warming trend

Today will be the last day of cooler temperatures up top as a ridge of high pressure starts to build and bring in some warm air aloft. The persistant ridge continues to plague us as it sits just off the Washington coast and deflect all the weather to the north. A moist westerly flow continues to pass over the area, the occasional flurry is possible above the FL which is around 1650m. The ridge starts to build late Wednesday, still cloudy, strengthens for Thursday with mostly sunny skies. A alpine temperature inversion starts to take hold late Wednesday and into the Friday. Freezing levels should start to come back down to around 1600m by Saturday. No major weather systems are forecast through early next week.
