Cool tempertures on the weekend

After hitting allmost +7C yesterday in the alpine the temperature this morning has plummited to -10C. The cold air wiil stick around for most of the weekend with lows on Saturday night down to -20C.. A pacific frontal system is forecast to hit the area Sunday night and into Monday bringing some new snow. Freezing levels will then jump up toward 1600m Monday night a bit of a freezing level rollercoaster this week ahead. A series of frontal systems next week will approach the coast from the southwest..

Alpine Forecast

Overnight and Friday: The temperature inversion has ended, with freezing levels dropping down to valley bottoms.  Winds becoming Northwest during the day as skies clear and temperatures drop.
Saturday: Cloudy with light snow and Southwest winds as a weak Low pressure system collides with the arctic air along the coast. Expect alpine temperatures to be around -15 with moderate Southwest winds.
Sunday: Cloudy and cold with light snow and moderate Southwest winds.
Monday: A approching frontal system comes in from the south west, colides with arctic air, models show the system pushing a bit south of us.
