Winter storm, finally!

The drought is over we are looking at a good week of skiing ahead as a series of pacific frontal systems will approach from the west. Freezing levels through the week should be in the valley or just above.

A system is crossing Vancouver Island this morning and snow is turning to rain as milder air advances. However over the fraser valley freezing rain has developed and will continue for a few hours before turning to rain later this morning. North of Squamish 15 to 25 cm of snow is possible as the cold air remains in place throughout this evening.

Weather Forecast Alpine

The ridge of high pressure and the associated cold arctic air is on its way out giving way to a more westerly pattern. A series of pacific frontal systems will impact the Coast for the forecast period.
