Atmospheric river

A narrow band of tropical moisture will affect the area tonight.
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Pineapple Express will continue to impact parts of Coastal BC.

An intense but slow-moving frontal system will continue to stream copious rainfall onto northern and central Vancouver Island and the Central Coast tonight. The front is expected to slump southward reaching Howe Sound later this evening. Heavy rain will develop producing amounts near 50 mm by Tuesday morning.

The rain over Howe Sound will likely ease somewhat Tuesday morning as the front shifts northward. However, heavy rain will redevelop Tuesday evening as the stalled front restarts its push southward.
