Arctic outflow

Strong outflow winds and cold wind chill values are expected or occurring.

A strengthening arctic ridge of high pressure over the B.C. interior will cause outflow winds to increase and temperatures to fall over Howe Sound, Whistler and the eastern Fraser Valley this morning. The combination of strong winds and low temperatures will cause wind chill values to drop to near minus 20 degree Celsius and persist through tonight.

A pacific front is due to arrive overnight tonight bringing with it snow. Total amounts of accumulated snow may be less than predicted due to entrenched arctic air.
