Well if you like the sun go somewhere else because what's happening here is going to continue at least off and on for another week. Payment for an epic winter is most likely the culprit.
A large ridge of high pressure out in the pacific is sending the jetstream north and picking up moisture out of the Gulf of Alsaka. To make the situation worse a trough of upper level low pressure has been hanging around aiding in the development of clouds. The 1030mb ridge located near 40N 150W is remaining nearly stationary for the next 7 days. However there is hope for the weekend as a weak ridge sets up and deflects some of this moisture, allowing some warm air to come up from the south.
Come on summer hurry up!
