Clear this morning

A nice sunrise, it's raining in Vancouver this morning, and once again the forecast was wrong. However clouds are on the horizon to the west so we'll see what happens. A large area of marine clouds offshore will occasionally brush the coast. In inland areas this may result in some nice breaks throughout the day, on the coast not so much! So where the heck is summer? It's sitting just offshore, the high which typically moves over us around the 1st of July is out in the pacific. There is a slightly improved forecast from yesterday for the rest of the week.

Looking at the 1000mb to 500mb thickness you can see the high out there, a trough of low pressure aloft will bring in those damn showers though.

Lots of clouds in the pacific..
