A weak ridge builds for today with warm unsettled conditions. Temperatures up top this morning are still warm 1.6C at alpine shop with light to moderate winds from the north. Some light showers later today. A Northwesterly flow will bring some flurries tomorrow evening above 1400 meters. Saturday is also bringing some light snow during the day to the alpine, with freezing levels hovering around 1300-1400m meters. Saturday night through early Sunday a system will approach from the northwest. Computer models actually are looking a bit better for snowfall amounts Sunday morning 10-15cm, hopefully a lot more. A arctic cold front will move in late Sunday/Monday with cooler temperatures, freezing levels dropping to surface by Monday. High pressure builds for next week and we will see frigid temperatures even in the valley overnight lows Tuesday night might hit -17C? Also of note we might see snow all the way to Vancouver Sunday night, as the cold air converges with warmer moist air to the south.
