Cold night, Warming up over the weekend

Forecast

A large ridge of high pressure has been over us for over a week bringing cold temperatures and moderate winds from the NE. Tonight will be the coldest in the valley so far this week as we plummet towards -10C. At the top of Whistler peak at 6pm -11.8C winds are out NW 50 gusting 85 km/ph.

The long range forecast is calling for rising freezing levels beginning Sunday night. Freezing levels are forecast to reach as high as 3200m late Tuesday night. A glimmer of hope is a large low pressure forming out in the pacific next Saturday, but that is a long way off and not very accurate. In the meantime WB is pumping out the man made stuff.
