Series of warm pacific frontal systems

Another big time warm spell is on the way, thanks to a big ridge of high pressure over northern California. The pineapple conveyor belt is set up perfectly to ferry along a series of warm wet pacific frontal systems approaching from the Southwest.

The first in a series of fronts will approach tonight, the remnants of a storm that has been pounding the north coast for the last few days, it is now fairly weak storm.

A warm front is due to arrive around mid day Friday bringing with it some rain, and then a lot of warm rain above the tops of the peaks into Saturday

Saturday yet another warm front joins the other warm front bringing even more rain and rising freezing levels, this one now looks like it s headed to the north of us.

Monday shows some hope of at least a bit of sunshine.

The Pineapple Express has departed the sub-tropics en route to the South Coast. Its estimated arrival time is Friday morning. Rainfall rates of 3-5mm/hr will result in 50 to 70 mm of rain by Saturday morning. However, the 2-day stopover will result in storm totals of 70-90 mm of rain.
