More warm wet weather

Update: Sat night
It now looks like most of the precipitation is done. A front moving onshore overnight should bring another 5cm. We can expect the freezing level to stay around 1700m, before rising again tomorrow eve.

Another plume of subtropical moisture is headed our way from the SW. A moist Pacific frontal system will bring waves of sub-tropical moisture to the South Coast beginning tonight. The first wave will move through by Thursday afternoon and then a second wave is anticipated for Thursday night and Friday. Total rainfall amounts of more than 75 mm are likely over a two day period with greater amounts of 150 mm or more for west and Inland Vancouver Island. In the Whistler area the precipitation will likely fall as wet snow early Thursday before switching over to rain. A bit of a break Saturday as we're in between systems. Significant additional rainfall is likely for the South Coast on Sunday and Monday.

More warm weather today as another round of precip is hitting us from the south. Freezing levels are supposed to come down a bit today with the passage of a cold front later this morning maybe.....

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Whistler

A long episode of rain, at times heavy, is expected.

A frontal system is bringing another round of heavy rain to the South Coast today. Rain at times heavy is expected to continue in most areas until after midnight with additional rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm except up to 120 mm for Howe Sound and the North Shore Mountains by Saturday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Pacific cyclone 3 pm Wed

There is a bright side to all this warm weather, the alpine will be getting hit with lots of snow and very strong South winds. Filling in the glaciers, and hiding big boulders. The lower mountain is going to take a bit of a rain hit!
