Arctic outflow warning in effect for:
Whistler

Strong outflow winds and cold wind chill values are expected or occuring.

An arctic airmass over the BC Interior is forcing cold air out of the mainland valleys and inlets. The strong winds combined with very cold air is giving wind chill values near minus 20. Conditions are expected to improve by this afternoon as temperatures rise and winds begin to diminish.

Any outdoor activity exposes you to an increased risk of frostbite. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds.

Arctic Outflow Warnings are issued when bitterly cold air flows from the interior to coastal communities and the outflow winds create wind chill values of -20 or less for 6 hours or more.
